Most cars come standard with typical paper cone speakers which over time deteriorate until one day when your favourite song comes on they start to sound awful and become broken speakers!
K&M can help, we stock most sizes of speakers and can fit speakers into pretty much any car on the market today. Most cars come with what’s called Component Speakers. Components compromise of two tweeters which handle the high frequency’s and then a door speaker often 6.5 inches inside. This is the setup that you will find in most hatchbacks such as a Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3, Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra. Furthermore you will also find these in Corsa, Polo and Fiesta. Some bigger cars such as a Volkswagen Tiguan will have a Tweeter and an 8 inch speaker in the door which we also stock.
Aftermarket speakers are better ! Automotive speakers are designed to be in a tough environment brands spend huge amounts of money testing these drivers to withstand cold, heat and humidity. When we replace a broken speaker with a standard paper cone with a foam surround we will use a speaker which has a coated treated cone and rubber surround which last much longer than the standard car speakers and sound much better.
