Good sounding bass, effortless deep bass and bass that puts a smile on your face often doesn’t come from a shop bought all in one package. Most of the cheap subwoofers out there simply don’t sound good and will add muddy sounding bass over the top of your standard audio speakers distorting. At K&M Acoustics for over 30 years we’ve been Get More Bass In Your Car by designing systems that suit all budgets and sound great. We have amplifiers available from Hertz, Audison, Incriminator Audio, AudioControl and Planet Audio. Our most popular amplifier is the Audison SR5.600 which is a 5 channel that can be used in 3 channel mode which we often use for vans or for an active front speaker set up with a subwoofer channel. This amp can also be used for front speakers, rear speakers and a subwoofer for a 1 amp fully amplified set up.
K&M has often considered around 400 watts of RMS power for bass to be suitable for most applications and to Get More Bass In Your Car without having to add extra battery’s or upgrade your alternator. Often watts is used heavily in car audio but watts doesn’t determine how loud a system is that’s always measured in DB. To gain +3db you need double the power and +3db is barely noticeable, +6db is a noticeable difference but requires 3 times the power. This is where if a customer wants some seriously loud bass in their vehicle we may suggest a 4-channel amplifier for music and a separate mono amp for bass.
Subwoofer enclosures/ subwoofer boxes are equally if not more important than the subwoofer itself to Get More Bass In Your Car ! For over 30 years K&M have been designing and building our own boxes, and we’ve learned a lot in that time. Whether its to have your bass loud enough to move hair and win SPL contests or if its deep, accurate great sounding bass, you’ve come to the right place. We will design a bespoke subwoofer box that suits exactly what you want and works well in your car.
Active subwoofers are not our favourite, we may even go as to say we don’t like them, they often come with a trade-off. We love music at K&M and chances are if you’re reading this you do as well. Get More Bass In Your Car is important as music has bass in it, who doesn’t love a kick drum with a good thud sounding exactly like if you were seeing your favourite band live. But bass is only half the story! If your standard speakers are not sounding good, just having bass over the top of them isn’t going to make you happy! This is why we always suggest an amplifier that can power your speakers and a subwoofer, it’s the most cost-effective way to improve the full audio experience!
So how much does this all cost?
For example, let’s say you have a 2018 Golf, providing the standard speakers are working we can get them to sound much better with an amplifier running them. We can take some of the bass that they’re trying to play at the moment and give that to a subwoofer. So, we may suggest that we use an Audison SR5.600 which has a good quality high level input which the standard Golf Radio can go into and an Audison Voce 2 AV10 subwoofer in a K&M custom bass box. This package would cost £1400 fully fitted including a 5-year warranty and give you a huge upgrade to what the Golf sounds like from the factory.
